Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and three other people were injured.

The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
